Unimus ¦ Semarang (December 19, 2017)  At the age of 18, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) is stretching its wings. Many attempts have been made including by establishing new cooperation in Three Obligations of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) with the Directorate General of National Properties (Direktorat Jenderal Kejayaan Negara/DJKN) for Central Java and Yogyakarta Area. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by both parties, represented by Tavianto Noegroho as head of the Regional Office of DJKN for Central Java & Yogyakarta Area and Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd. as the Rector of Unimus. It took place in the integrated campus of Unimus, during the national seminar on the Role of the Directorate General of National Properties in the National Development”.

The Rector of Unimus, on the occasion, explained that the Directorate General of National Properties was a state institution that facilitated Unimus’ students, especially from the Faculty of Economics, who wanted to improve their capacities and competencies in the area of the Three Obligations of Higher Education. “This partnership is an attempt made by Unimus to deepen the theoretical learning, supported by direct field practices. It is hoped that the students will be able to do internship as well as practice at the Directorate General of National Properties. Hence, they will learn comprehensively” added the Rector, who was companied by Dr. Hardiwinoto, the Dean of the FE. “We hope that this will lead to the improvements of Unimus’ students’ competencies, including those related to public service programs that involve Unimus and the Directorate General of National Properties,” he concluded.

Meanwhile,Tavianto Noegroho, who came as the main speaker, expressed his positive appreciation on the new cooperation held by both the institutions. He revealed that the MoU would be helpful in implementing the Three Obligations as well as to optimize Unimus in managing the assets. “Results of the asset optimization can become one of the sources of funds, in order to improve the educational quality at Unimus,” he said.
