A delegation of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus), consisting of Dr. Sri Rejeki (Vice Rector II) and Muhammad Yusuf Ph.D. (Director of Unimus International Relations Office), on Tuesday April 10, 2018, held a meeting with Louise Goold (Manager Development and External Relations of Monash University in Australia) as the representative of the institution. Facilitated by Council of Higher Education, Research, and Development of Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board, the event was attended by rectors and directors of international relations offices at notable higher education institutions under Muhammadiyah.

Prof. Lincoln Arsyad, Ph.D., the chairman of Muhammadiyah Council of Higher Education, Research, and Development on the occasion stated the event was a return visit by Monash University after the previous meeting in Melbourne in January 2018. “A follow-up is required in order to explore and implement the reinforcing cooperation between higher education institutions under Muhammadiyah and Monash Univerrsity,” Prof. Lincoln added.

“Unimus has planned some follow-up in form of a short course program for teachers entitled ‘English Training for Teachers’ as a part of implementation of Teacher Go International program, in collaboration with the Education Office of Central Java Province. The program will be held in August 2018. Besides, Unimus also hopes that there will be some student mobility and exchange program between Unimus and Monash University,” the Director of Unimus IRO explained. By implementing the MoU with Monash University, the achievements of Unimus dealing with its vision ‘having international insight’ can be improved.
