Unimus Hosts 1st National Conference of Muhammadiyah A’isyiyah Students

Semarang | Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) is again selected as the host of a national-level event. This time is the 1st National Conference of Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah Nursing Students themed “Together in the Synergy of Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah Nursing Students”, which is held on April 27-29, 2018.

The national conference was opened by Prof. Masrukhi, M.Pd., the Rector of Unimus and attended by dozens of delegates of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Student Organizations throughout Indonesia. Rector of Unimus really appreciated the event and stated that student associations were really important to develop important aspects such as soft skills. “Soft skills that can be developed include leadership and ability to build a network. Soft skill supports 80% of success,” he asserted.
“Students at higher education institutions under Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah are expected to have comprehensive or holistic intelligence in form of the spirit, feeling (aesthetics), intellectuality, and physical intelligence,” he added. The explained that this positive event could become like a golden ink for the next successes. He advised that organizations or peer groups would create the next great generations. “There are not great people who are successful alone. There are great people because there are peer groups. A great person is born from his/her group,” he concluded.

Various activities were planned to be conducted in the first national conference, such as election of the board, preparation of the articles and bylaws of the association, and a scientific activity in form of a national seminar. Though the first national conference, national association of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah students can be formed, who can bring forward nursing in Indonesia. In the future, this association can become a unifier and medium of coordination between nursing students under Muhammadyah and Aisyiyah from areas throughout Indonesia.
