Vice Rector I of Unimus handover a letter of assignment to the students’ representative

Semarang | Unimus (July 5, 2018) Six students of Diploma IV Program in Medical Laboratory Technology, the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences of Unimus will participate in the Asian Summer Program (ASP) at Dongseo University (DSU), Busan, South Korea for 3 weeks, from July 9 to 21, 2018. Those eight semester students are Ariep Noviansyah, Ayu Hartina, Karlina, Moh. Fikri, Marselaonety La’lang and Nur Indah Sari Amir. They have been officially dispatched by Dr. Sri Darmawati, M.Si., the Vice Rector I, accompanied by Dr. Budi Santosa, M.Si.Med. (Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences), M. Yusuf, Ph.D. (Director of Unimus’ International Relations Office) and Andri Sukeksi, SKM, M.Kes. (Head of Diploma IV Program in Medical Laboratory Technology).

The event is one of Unimus’ efforts towards an Excellent Unimus with some improvements to be inspiring with a tagline “Muda Belia Mendunia” by guiding the students to get high achievements not only domestically but also overseas. The students will join other students from Asia to attend various courses and activities in order to get cultural experiences as well as recent knowledge about medical laboratory technology.

Dr. Sri Darmawati stated that Unimus’ students were always encouraged and facilitated to participate in international student mobility programs in various institutions overseas. “The short course is taken to make the students have more extensive insight, be ready to compete in the global era and be able to cooperate with international workers in various countries. The overseas course is a kind of elective Field Work Practice program for students”. Meanwhile, the dean of the Faculty said that the program would become performance empowerment as medical laboratory experts. “Nowadays, Unimus has become an Ambassador University for Dongseo University that will facilitate any internationalization of Medical Laboratory Providing Educational Institution throughout Indonesia. The partnership between Unimus and Dongseo University also includes dual degree program. The dual degree program’s curriculum has been ready and thus students will be able to study both at Unimus and DOS until Master’s degree,” he added.
