Students sent to Community Service Program “Muhammadiyah untuk Negeri” took picture with Rector, Vice Rectors of Unimus, and Advisers

Semarang │(01/08/2018) This activity was held in the front yard of Unimus rectorate on Wednesday, 01 August 2018. In this occasion, Dr. Sri Darmawati, M.Si (Vice Rector I) representing Rector of Unimus sent students of at least 9 study programs to join the 5th Community Service Program (KKN) entitled “Muhammadiyah Untuk Negeri”. Several officials such as Vice Rector III of Unimus, Head of Community Service Program Division in Institute of Research and Community Services (Herlisa Anggraini, SKM, M.Si.Med), field advisers and Head of Study Programs in Unimus.

Head of Community Service Program Division of LPPM Unimus that “KKN Muhammadiyah untuk Negeri” is a kind of program held by Muhammadiyah Universities as the manifestation of learning and empowering process through several activities such as education, teaching, research, community services and also by performing amar makruf nahi mungkar (enjoining goods and forbidding wrong). “At least 57 Unimus students will join their community services in 57 Villages of 65 Villages within the 23 Muhammadiyah’s District Executive Board (PCM) in Purbalingga Regency. There are approximately 40 Muhammadiyah Universities and Aisyiyah in Indonesia join “KKN Muhammadiyah Untuk Negeri” program for 37 days from 1 August – 6 September 2018” Herlisa added. “In society, every problem appears to be very complex and interrelated each other. Thus, such multidiscipline approach could be implemented into KKN program in order to provide more effective solution. Students, in this case, design every programs and activities under the assistance of Muhammadiyah Organization, Universities and Purbalingga government.” She elaborated.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs agreed that “KKN Muhammadiyah” program aims at building silaturahim (friendship/brotherhood) among Muhammadiyah Universities with local government, people with Muhammadiyah members in order to strengthen unity, integrity and nationalism. “KKN would provide students soft skills to work together with society in arranging, designing and implementing development program. This activity also enables students to actively give their contribution in regional development program.” She explained and advised students to maintain discipline and persistent. “Students must be good agent of change in society who always keep the good name of their alma mater.
