Semarang | Talking about oral and dental health is still becoming such threats to everyone including children. Furthermore, caries problem has high prevalence towards their teeth’s condition. Therefore, checking routine dental health needs to be conducted. Faculty of Dentistry in Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) conducted several activities as the manifestation of community service on Wednesday (16/10/2019) in SD Muhammadiyah 8 Semarang.

This agenda which aims at introducing children to dental and oral health was enthusiastically welcomed by at least 143 students consisting of students from grade 3, 4, and 5 (A and B). Besides, having free dental examination, they also had time to consult to the dentist.

In conducting the community service, this activity was supervised by 4 dental specialist (drg. Lira, drg. Enggar, drg. Yasinia, drg. Diki), 1 lecturer and 1 educational personnel for two days, Monday and Wednesday (14/10/2019). “It continues the previous counseling. In addition, students are also asked to perform the best way to brush their teeth, and check their dental health (Oral Hygiene Index),“ explained drg. Lira as the chairperson of the community service. Furthermore, Faculty of Dentistry of Unimus tried to introduce oral and dental health to children in very early age, so that they can prevent any diseases that may occur in the future.
