The University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) held the 25th graduation ceremony on October 26, 2016, coincided with Muharram 25th, 1438 H in the Convention Hall of the Great Mosque of Central Java on Gajah Street, Semarang.

In this ceremony, 567 students were officially graduated, 154 of which got the predicate of cum laude. The following is the detail number of graduates in the 25th Graduation Ceremony, such as,

Given GPA and Study Period as the primary indicators of quality, we proudly state that the percentage of students getting cum laude is 27.16%, very satisfactory 67.02%, and satisfactory 4.93%. the average GPA of the Professional Program, Undergraduate degree, Diploma IV, and Diploma III consecutively is 3.67, 3.30, 3.32 and 3.33. Such data show that during their study, they could absorb as well as master the materials given. The could also reach the standards of competence successfully.

The depiction of the graduates’ study period this year shows that their performances have been good. As many as 92.85% of the total graduates of the professional program in medicine and in nursing have graduated on time. As many as 89.43% of the total graduates of Unimus’ undergraduate degrees finished their studies in between 3.5 and 4 years. 98.98% of all Diploma IV graduates in this period finished their study in 4 years; meanwhile, 97.22% of the total Diploma III graduates finished in 3 years.

The data show that the educational process has ran well and effective. Most of the students haven’t had any problem in studying and graduated on time. This performance occurred in all study programs and levels, relevant to the fact that 100% of the study programs have been accredited.

Another students’ achievement just a while ago is the departure of two Engineering students to South Korea to join a joint degree program at Sun Moon University. Those were Abas Riyono and Haditya Naufal Fattah. Meanwhile, some non-academic achievements Unimus’ students have got within the past month in sports, i.e. 1 gold medal in wall-climbing and 2 silver medals in the same sport that they got in 2016 National Sports Week.

Those who got medals in the 2016 National Sports Week were Moh. Marsudin and the team. Other achievements that unimus have got include the re-accreditations of nine Unimus’ study programs and the Institutional Accreditation (AIPT), all have been done in almost at the same time. And, all got B.

By 2016, the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang has had 22 study programs, including Diploma III, Diploma IV, undergraduate and professional programs. Right now, Unimus is planning to open some postgraduate programs, such as postgraduate degree in Public Health, Postgraduate Degree in Nursing Science, and Postgraduate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Meanwhile, to improve the quality of graduates so that they have skills better than those from other colleges, Unimus is developing some supporting facilities such as an Integrated Medical Laboratory Building in the complex of the Integrated Campus, at Kedungmundu Raya Street No. 18, Semarang, Teeth and Mouth Educational Hospital (RSGMP), which is under construction, Tahfidzul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School in Sendangmulyo and a plan of construction the building of the Faculty of Medicine at Campus 1. Unimus is also improving cooperation with several universities abroad. Some of cooperation are in form of Joint Degree (with Sun Moon University, which has already been attended by 2 students of the Faculty of Engineering. In the future, there will be dual degree programs in the field of Health Analyst, consisting of a dual degree program at Diploma III level a transfer program from Diploma III in Health Analyst to the Undergraduate Degree in Health Analyst. These programs are the collaboration between Unimus and Dongseo University from South Korea. At last, Unimus also accepts some foreign students in several study programs, such as from the United Arab Emirates studying in the Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thailand studying in the Undergraduate Degree in English Education, Lebanon studying in the Undergraduate Degree in Management, and Limor Leste studying in the Undergraduate Degree in Nutrition Science
