Semarang I (2/12/2019) Located in 3rd floor Hall of RSGM Unimus, the Undergraduate Program of Statistics organised visiting professor featuring Assoc. Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Hairy bin Ibrahim from Universitas Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia. Dean of FMIPA Unimus, Dr. Eny Winaryati, M.Pd, Head of Undergraduate Programs, Lecturers and 210 students in S1 Statistics were participated in the event. By promoting “Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”, this general lecture aimed at providing beneficial science about Big Data that can help us to save and solve the daily problems especially those related to counting data. This event was the implementation of MoA between Unimus and UPSI Malaysia. The event was proceeded with visiting agenda to UPSI Malaysia for discussion, join research, students exchange and student mobility. At that point, some undergraduate programs in FMIPA Unimus also used this opportunity to hold signing MoA with UPSI Malaysia.

It was stated by Prof. Mohd Hairy that Big Data is a kind of bank of data to save and solve problems related to daily counting and data. “Big Data” is used to see things conducted in a very long time and is considered as important thing to handle issues related to environment, for instance, that was counted by using quantitative data in order to tell the clear and concrete result.
