WR III Membuka Kegiatan Gebyar Desa Kec. Sumowono

Sumowono, February 26th, 2017 Unimus’ students were officially withdrawn to the campus as 2017 Student Community Service – Community Empowerment Program (KKN-PPM) was accomplished. The withdrawal ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector III (Drs. Samsudi Raharjo, M.T., M.M.), representing Rector of Unimus, the field supervisors, as well as 139 students participating in the program. The ceremony was held in conjunction with Sumowono Village Festival (Gebyar Desa), aiming at exhibiting the students’ products during the community service program. The students made use of the event to show to the public products made crops yielded in 13 villages in Sumowono sub-district. For the record, the community service program was held between January 28th and February 28th, 2017. In the event also, some performance arts were presented by students of primary and secondary schools. Besides, a coloring competition was also held for students of kindergartens in Sumowono sub-district, in addition to a medical check for people of all ages.

Vice Rector III in his speech stated to the students that “Student Community Service aims at applying knowledge and sciences that the students have learned in the university. Besides, through the program, the students will learn to be useful to the society, in this case, people in 13 villages in Sumowono sub-distict. The students learn to analyze the situation in each village, the weaknesses as well complaints from the people of the villages. Through the program, cooperation between Unimus and such villages and the sub-district in general keeps maintained, for the sake of the advancement of Sumowono.
