Semarang | Student Senate of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang organised Student Representative Council (DPM) Meeting on Friday, 24 January 2020 in BPK2LK Building Semarang. Vice Rector III, Dr. Syamsudi Raharjo, S.T., M.T. represented Rector of Unimus, Head of The Bureau of Academic and Student Affair (BAAK), Rosita Lihasari, S.Sos., M.Si., advisors and joined by students of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions from 19 regions across Indonesia as Students Representative Council (DPM PTMA). This event invite Denty Eka Widi P, S.E., M.H., member of Indonesian Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI), Drs. H. M. Tafsir, M.Ag. Chair of Muhammadiyah Executive Board of Central Java, and Khafid Sirotudi, Chair of LHKP PWM Central Java.

Students as the agent of change need to create any positive changes for their environment, and trough DPM organization (Students Representative Council), they must create about innovative and creative ideas for a better Indonesia. Vice Rector III stated that as student representatives, they have to be able and have willingness to voice the aspiration without any tendencies. Besides, they should protect cultural heritage, assertive in decision making for goodness. Furthermore, students representatives need to express their sensible opinions to be implemented not only in campus, but also in the society.

Beside conducting meeting, a national seminar and socialisation was also conducted. The Four Pillars National Seminar entitled “Peran Muhammadiyah dalam membentuk legislator muda untuk membangun Indonesia berkemajuan” is expected to create role model students in society for a better Indonesia. Students were also expected to identify their own characteristics and potentials in term of knowledge.
