Semarang | UNIMUS (June 4, 2018) Undergraduate Program in Dental Education and Professional Program in Dentistry of the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) is accredited “B” by the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (IAAHEH) or LAM PT-Kes in Indonesian. The official announcements are written in Decree No. 0331/LAM- PTKes/Akr/Sar/V/2018 for the Undergraduate Program and Decree No. 0332/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Pro/V/2018 for the Professional Program, which is valid between May 25, 2018 and May 25, 2013. The visitation was conducted on May 3-4, 2013, by thee assessors of the IAAHEH. They were Prof. Dr. Drg. Tri Erri Astoeti, M.Kes (USAKTI), Prof. Dr.drg. Chiquita Prahasanti, Sp.Perio (K) from UNAIR and Dr. drg. Hendra Dian Aditya, Sp.KG (K) from UNPAD.
“Alhamdulillah, this result proves that LAM-PTKes has acknowledged the the programs, believing that the management of both of the Undergraduate Program in Dental Education and the Professional Program in Dentistry has been on the track and based on the regulations and standards written in the regulations of the accreditation agency, which include aspects of curriculum, lecturers, infrastructure, governance, vision and missions, etc, which match with the standard of both of Undergraduate Program in Dental Education and Professional Program in Dentistry,” Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd, the Rector of Unimus, explained in the Dental and Oral Hospital of Unimus in a thanksgiving and Tarawih event dealing with the faculty’s achivements on May 4, 2018. “The accreditaion results is good news for either the Faculty of Dentistry or Unimus, and thus optimism needs to be always maintained dealing with the improvement of the managerial quality at Unimus in order to improve our competitiveness in the global sphere as well as create graduates with akhlakul karimah (virtue). The accreditation results also become one of Unimus’ contributions for Indonesia in accordance with development of dentistry,” he added.
Meanwhile, drg. Budiono, M.Pd., the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, asserted the accreditation results was the fruit of hard works not only by the Faculty of Dentistry but also the entire academicians at Unimus. “This accreditation achivements would trigger us to conduct a better management of the Faculty of Dentistry,” he added. Dr. Sri Darmawati, M.Si., the Vice Rector I, added that witht he achievement, the Faculty of Dentistry would have the right to receive 150 students in the new student enrollment.
With the vision “To become a provider of technological-based and internationally competitive dental education for virtuous beings in 2030,” the Faculty of Dentistry is expected to improve its quality as well as become more excellent, following the accreditation B that has been obtained. The proper achievements will motivate to prepare the re-accreditation of Higher Education Institution (AIPT), which aims at getting accredited A. The results will also complete Unimus’ motto, which is to become “A University for the excellence”.
