Semarang │Unimus (25/10/2018) Mechanical Engineering Department Lecturer of Unimus as well as Vice Rector for Students Affair of Unimus, Drs. Samsudi Raharjo, M.T., M.M. succeeded in obtaining his Doctoral Degree from S3 Mechanical Engineering of Engineering Faculty of Universitas Diponegoro. After defended his dissertation promoted by Prof. Dr.Ir. A.P. Bayuseno, M.Sc and Co-Promotor Dr. Jamari, ST, MT and Prof. Ir. Stefanus Muryanto, M.Eng.Sc, Ph.D through his dissertation entitled “Pembetukan dan Pengendalian Kerak Carbon Sulphate Di dalam Pipa Beraliran Luminer: Studi Tentang Pengaruh Aditif Terhadap Kinetika Morfologi dan Mineral Kerak”, on Thursday (25/10) with GPA 3,70.
This lecturer and father of four expressed in his dissertation that the formation and control of piping system flow in industry is becoming serious issue because it will lead into flow blocking, decreased flow which will cause more expense on maintenance and production. By conducting experiment research, Samsudi Raharjo investigated the most effective and efficient way to overcome pipe blocking of heat exchanger. “There are so many factors influencing the existence of crustal CaCO3, CaSO4, CaCO3-CaSO4 and MgSO4 on lumina fluids pipe. The higher temperature and concentration are directly proportional with the existence of crustal inside the pipe.” Samsudi Raharjo explained. Samsudi proved that the addition of citric acid, tartaric acid, and ion Cu2+ reduced the existence of crustal inside pipe. This findings is very essential and significant for home daily use or industry.

Prof. Dr.Ir. A.P. Bayuseno, M.Sc. as the promotor stated that writing is very prominent for University life and development. “By accomplishing his dissertation, Dr. Samsudi has made at least two publications in two international journal. We do hope Dr. Samsudi Raharjo will keep on writing and conducting research after graduating. Besides, he can return to be good researcher in Unimus.” He said. Meanwhile, Rector of Unimus, Prof. Dr. Masrukhi congratulated and expected that later Dr. Samsudi Raharjo is able to strengthen Human Resources of Unimus especially in Engineering Faculty. “It is expected that the new title as doctor gained by Dr. Samsudi can develop his professionalism as lecturer and improve graduates’ quality.” Rector ended. Today, Dr. Samsudi Raharjo is the 4th Doctor in Faculty of Engineering and the 33rd Doctor in Unimus.
