
Semarang │Unimus (14/10/2018) Health’s People’s Healthy Lifestyle Movement known as Germas is movement which aims at creating healthy lifestyle culture by eliminating bad things that trigger unhealthy life. It is a kind of systematic and planned action practiced altogether within any community to improve life quality. Several activities in Germas can be identified such as: doing physical exercise, consuming vegetables and fruit, avoiding smoking, not drinking alcohol, doing the general medical check-up, cleaning the environment, and using toilet.

Implementing Germas needs any support from society element from government, society and academic society needs to work hard and smart to realise healthy life. The success of Germas is also supported by Higher Education Institution to create Human Resource that can make any socialisation. In this case, Faculty of Public Health in Unimus is actively support and participate in Germas.

Any effort to support healthy life, FKM Unimus collaborate with Semarang Health Service, Communication and Consultation Forum (FKK) Region Semarang to organize Germas Campaign on Sunday (14/10/2018). It is located in Unimus Rectorate Yard attended by Head of FKK Region Semarang, Krisseptiana Hendrar Prihadi, Subdistrict Head of Tembalang, Head of Puskesmas Kedungmundu, Urban Village Head of Kedungmundu Region, school representatives in Unimus vicinity, Dean of FKM Unimus, and academic society of FKM Unimus. The activity is started by doing exercise by the participants such as society, cadre, government staff, health worker, and academic society of FKM Unimus. This is then continued by promoting healthy lifestyle to people. This activity also ask everyone to apply good lifestyle to realise healthy and welfare Semarang citizen. In addition, there exist any free medical examination by students of FKM Unimus. Finally, this event is ended by the socialisation of how changing people’s mindset about healthy lifestyle by FKK Region Semarang.
It is stated by Tia Hendrar Prihadi every family has to start healthy living, for example by eating nutrients food like vegetables and fruit. Besides, doing the physical activities need to be socialised. “The most important thing is how family, as the smallest unit of society, independently develop the culture of healthy living style.” Whereas, the Dean of FKM Unimus, Mifbakhudin, S.K.M., M.Kes also says that any learning material about public health students get in the classroom will support students to contribute about Germas. “Today, it’s not about the Germas socialisation, but students also display their products related to public health service.” He ended.
