Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) is one of those that has already emphasized on this matter in learning activities.

dr. Muchtaruddin Mansyur, MS., SpOK., the keynote speaker was delivering a material.

dr.Muhammad Riza Setiawan., M.Kes., the vice dean during an interview in the midst of the seminar stated that the Faculty of Medicine at Unimus, besides emphasizing on family medicine, also paying attention on those who understand about occupational medicine. Moreover, he stated that occupational medicine was a very important thing because by 2045, Indonesia is predicted being overpopulated where there would be a lot of workers with the potential occurrence of work-related health problems. “Nowadays, the government, community, and industrial sector don’t really pay attention to occupational health, despite the presence of BPJS for Health. The implementation of health and occupational health in the industrial sphere is still minimal so that it is going to be risty for workers to take care of their healths. Work accidents and work-related diseases are still neglected by many corporations as well as the workers themselves. It is because work-related diseases usually emerge in a long time, so that education and socialization on health problems need to be given massively” he stated.

The agenda of the international seminar included symposium, poster and research result presentations by the participants. The event has run well and ended successfully. With this success, we hope that it can become a reference for Unimus’ academicians who plan to hold similar events. Hopefully, it can also motivate either students or lecturers to be more active and creative. ISOCMED is a form of internationalization, aiming at making Unimus an excellent and world-class university.
