Semarang | Recently era of globalization is such an interesting phenomenon existed. This is indicated by the vast knowledge and information, communication and technology development that might change the world including Indonesia. This will affect every aspect of life, mindset and action of Indonesian people especially millenial generation. Referring to this phenomenon, Faculty of Mathematics and Science of Unimus held General Lecture about creating intellectual and characterized youngsters entitled “Membangun Karakter Intelektual Muda Menghadapi Globalisasi”, on Tuesday (12/03/2019).
This event was conducted in RSGM Hall of Unimus and presented Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd (Rector of Unimus) as the keynote speaker. This agenda was also participated by hundreds of Statistics Department, Mathematics Department, Chemistry Department students. Opened by the Dean of FMIPA, Dr. Eny Winaryati, M.Pd, this event aimed at creating intellectual and characterized youngsters in facing globalisation era. Dr. Eny Winaryati said that young people are asset for the nation, so the country counts on them. “Great country owns good young people. It is expected that Indonesian young generation that frequently obtain achievement, be such caring person, have strong faith, respect, and responsible,” she said.
The next agenda was the presentation from Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd and award delivery for best students in FMIPA. Those awards went to Statistics Study Program students such as Muhammad Hadi (Semester 1), Zamni Haquel (Semester 3), Nurul Qomariyah (Semester 5), and Widia Istiqomah (Semester 7) and Dwi Rahayu (Best Active Activist), Chemistry Study Program students such as Arneta Sabela and Bhayu Ekha (Semester 1), Zulfa N. Fitriana, Nur F. So’imah, and Millenia Mawar (Semester 3), and Fairuz Khalishas (Semester 5). Finally from Mathematics Study Program students such as Silvi Yasmine (Semester 1), H. Nabila (Semester 3), Agung Setiawan (Semester 5) and Yuli Poncowati (Semester 7).
