Semarang | 21 November 2016 International Relation Officer (IRO) of the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) held a releasing ceremony for Mrs. Kartika Nugraheni, S.Gz., M.Gz., a lecturer of the Undergraduate Degree in Nutrition, Unimus, in accordance with her departure to England to take a doctoral degree at the University of Leeds. For the record, her study was funded by the Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Keuangan/LPDP).The ceremony was held in conjunction with the weekly Monday morning prayer.

This event was also used to appreciate Mr. Moh. Yamin Darsyah who had been funded by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education to attend the 5th International Conference  of Humanity and Culture on October 29th – 30th, 2016 in the United States of America.

The IRO’s director (M.Yusuf, S.STPi., M.Si. ,Ph.D.) stated in his speech that, in 2016, the Field 1 programs (the Vice Rector 1’s programs), especially for the staff, would be strengthened in the next year (2017) in accordance with further studies abroad. He stated that the IRO provides services as well as offers helps for any staff members who want get scholarships and/or seek any international programs. He added that “There have been 3 lecturers starting a doctoral degree abroad in 2016, among which are Dian Candra Prasetyanti, S.Pd., M.Pd. who has been in at Khon Kaen University and Irfan Nur Hakim at Chulalongkorn Univerity, both in Thailand.”

Meanwhile, the Rector in his speech stated that the internationalization is one of the representations of the University’s visions, and also a kind of activity that has to be done by the IRO in order to mobilize either the lecturers or students of Unimus.
