Semarang | December 9th 2016, International Relations Office of the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang yesterday, December 8th, 2016  held a scholarship socialization event entitled “Living and Study in Australia”, containing scholarships Information of postgraduate and Ph.D. programs at Victoria University, Australia. The guest speaker in the event was Reza Haviez (In Country Manager Indonesia – Victoria University). The event was also used for signing an MoU between the university and AlfaLink Semarang. Attending the event were the Vice Rector III (Drs. Samsudi Rahardjo, M.M., M.T.), the Head of the International Relations Office (M.Yusuf, S.STPi., M.Si.,Ph.D.) and the representatives of all study programs, including the lecturers and students.

The event was held aiming at sharing information about scholarships and how to get scholarships in Australia, especially at the University of Victoria, either from the government of the Republic of Indonesia (Dikti and LPDP-Kemenkeu) or the government of Australia. All this time, Australia has been one of the main destinations of people to study, including from Indonesia. The Vice Rector III stated, “the event is a good chance for students, lecturers and alumni who want to get information about education abroad, hoping that the students and alumni keep motivated to go further study and the come back to the country in order to develop the education for the sake of the next generations. It is believed that those graduating abroad will be readier for they have got better education, knowledge as well as learning, either in terms of language and culture. Besides, graduates who speak foreign languages are one step ahead the others.
