Rektor Unimus memberikan arahan kepada peserta International Student MobilitySemarang │(25/07/2017) Students of the Faculty of Dentistry (Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi/FKG) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) will participate in the International Student Mobility program, an international event, in the College of Dentistry at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The departure was discharged officially by Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd., the Rector of Unimus, witnessed by the Vice Dean of the faculty (drg. Budiono) and the Director of Unimus International Relations Office (M. Yusuf., Ph.D.).

Wiranti Widya Arianti, Kurnia Adhi Wikanto, Gita Jazaul Aufa, Danil Ahsan Murdiputra, Tri Utari Sari Dewi, Syabilla Audina, Hesti Widyawati, Nida Khairunnisa, Khaleda Shafiratunnisa, Prisca Anindia Setyowati and Nahdila Adibah Hariyono. The program is one of the follow-ups of a MoU between the University of Malaya and Unimus, also as one of the international activity implementations and one of learning requirements in Block 24 in the Study Program of Dentistry.

The Vice Dean II of the FKG stated that the event was a part of the effective program learning in 24th Block, supporting one of the Dentistry program’s missions, in terms of internationalization. “The activity derives from the vision of the FKG as an excellent family dentistry that optimises preventions. We hope that through this activity, the students will not only attend clinical class on oral surgical technology but also learn about preventive acts concerning to dental problems in Malaysia,” drg. Budiono explained. “We hope that the involved students in the student mobility can give some inputs about learning system or curriculum at the University of Malaya that can be adopted by the FKG so that the quality of curriculum and learning can be improved,” he added. Finally, he also hoped that the event could become a way of promoting the Faculty of Dentistry at Unimus to either the national or international society dealing with the Dentistry. Meanwhile, drg. Syarifah Nova Amiza Zam., Ph.D., a lecturer of the FKG who graduated from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, stated in the discharge ceremony that with the student mobility, it was hoped that the students would be stimulated to get interested in oral surgery, as well as take some graduate studies and share knowledge that they had later.

Foto bersama peserta international student mobility dengan Rektor Unimus, Wakil Dekan dan dosen FKGOn that occasion, the Rector advised the students that they had to equip themselves with knowledge when participating the event at the University of Malaya, as well as attend the event properly and return to Unimus with new knowledge in hand so that can share something to the peers.   “Students of the FKG at Unimus need to exchange experiences with both foreign friends and those from Indonesia dealing with dental science that supports the development of professional dentists” the Rector added. “To create a reliable and professional Islamic dentist, Unimus really pays attention to the Faculty of Dentistry as well as supports the final-stage construction of Unimus Oral and Dental Hospital, so that by the end of September 2017, the building will be readily built. Quality dental units continuously provided in order to optimize the learning activities in the Faculty of Dentistry” he added.
