Unimus ǀ Semarang (January 30th, 2017) University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) hpld a Training on Improvement of Basic Skills of Instructional Techniques (PEKERTI) in collaboration with the Coordination of Private Higher Education Institutions (KOPERTIS) Region VI Central Java. The training was held for five days (January 30th – February 3rd,) at Unimus’ NRC Building, attended by 50 participants from Unimus, STIE Pelita Nusantara Semarang, Universitas Pandanaran Semarang and Universitas Panca Sakti Tegal, as reported by the chairman of the committee (Edy Soesanto, S.Kp., M.Kes.) in the opening ceremony that was attended by the Rector of Unimus (Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd.), the Division Head of Institutional and Academic Affairs of KOPERTIS VI (Agung Purwanto, S.H.), and the head trainer (Prof. Dr. Sunandar, M.Pd.).
The team of trainers that facilitates the workshop includes: Dr. Listyaning Sumardiyani, M.Hum., Dr. Katharina Ruspita, M.Pd., Dr. Peni Pujiastuti, M.Si. and Sunardi S.S., M.Pd. the training is obligatory and one of requirements for a lecturer to teach. Dealing with that, the materials given are basic skills, ones that must be mastered by lecturers to fulfill one of three obligations (Tridharma), which is education. The materials will be given by the methods of theories and practices, including, theories of learning and motivations of teaching adults, taxonomy of instructional purposes, instructional designs, methods of giving assignments, communication basis and basic skills of teaching, composing RPS and RPP, models of innovative learning, peer teaching, team teaching, evaluation.
