Semarang │Unimus (09/04/2019). The ability of managing financial stuff is demanded to support somebody’s success in working world. One has to provide themselves with financial soft skill mastery from the very beginning. The minimum level of financial life skill mastery nowadays encouraged the Head of Unimus Career Development Center (UCDC) to hold Financial Life Skills (FLS). This event was conducted in meeting room of integrated health laboratory of Unimus for three days (09-11 April 2019) and participated by students of Unimus. At least 14 modules were given to train students FSL intensively. This project was supported by Youthwin Through Economic Participation (YEP) from USAID.

“This event aims at providing students to be more financial literate or have the mastery of financial soft skill. When a person is in debt usually she/he decrease their working performance. By joining this workshop, after students get a job in the future and want to take any loan then she/he knows what financial institution is credible or not”, explained the Head of UCDC, Sukojo, S.S. At the same time, Head of BAAK, Rosita Lihasari, S.Sos, M.Si stated that students need to master financial soft skill. Since mastering this soft skill would support someone’s career development in the future.

“Knowledge about financial should be mastered by students because after they work in the future, they can manage their financial from any salaries or incomes well. If they fail to manage it, they could fall into loan or debt that will affect their working performance,” said Sukojo, S.S when delivering the material on Tuesday (9/4/2019).

One of the participants from English Department, Eva Dina Mareta expressed her excitement of joining this training and said she got alot of benefits. “We are not only given the material but also provided the knowledge and how to deal with financial stuff. At least, we will have sufficient financial skill to develop our career in the future.” She elaborated.
