Unimus’ rector handed Rector’s Decree on study permit to Mr. Rubijanto

Semarang, February 7th, 2017 International Relations Officer (IRO) of the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) held a press conference in accordance with the pre-departure of two lecturers to study doctoral programs abroad, such as Rohmat Suprapto, S.Ag., M.Ag. (Mathematics and Natural Sciences lecturer) with a scholarship from Muhammadiyah and Rubyanto Juni Pribadi ST, MT. (Engineering lecturer) with a scholarship from the National Taipei University of Technology. The event was attended by the Rector of Unimus (Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd,), the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (Dr. R.M. Bagus Irawan, S.T., M.Si., IPP.) and the Director of the IRO (M.Yusuf, S.STPi, M.Si.,Ph.D.).

According to M. Yusuf, Unimus in collaboration with the IRO has sent 3 lecturers abroad in 2016, and in 2017, 2 other students will study abroad as well including Mr. Rubijanto from the Faculty of Engineering, receiving a scholarship following the cooperation between Unimus and the NTUT. He will study at the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (CMEE), with the provision that in the first year of study,he has to achieve some targets such as publishing a scientific article in one international journal and disseminating papers in two international seminars.

Furthermore, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering hoped that Mr. Rubijanto will be able to finish his study on time, in order to strengthen the faculty, having had 3 doctors already. The human resource reinforcement will also boost the learning quality in the faculty of Engineering. FYI, the Faculty of Engineering of Unimus has study programs that have been accredited B, such as Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The followup of this will be a plan to establish an Engineering Professional Program, as required by the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) referring to the Law No. 11 of 2014 about Engineering. To conduct this program, Unimus will collaborate with the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), one of just 4 higher education institutions that have been approved by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (KEMENRISTEKDIKTI) to establish an Engineering Professional Program. The normal length of the program is 2 semesters.
