Semarang | As an attempt to increase and prepare the strategy to propose research grants as well as improve journals’ qualities, Unimus held a workshop of journal reviewer and clinic of DRPM (Directorate of Research and Community Service) research grant proposal making based on Guideline XII of 2018. The event was attended by lecturers at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang who had finished their doctoral studies. It was held to improve the lecturers’ quality in article publication both in national and international journals, as a part of higher education four obligations. Becoming the guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Ir. Syaiful Anwar, M.Si., an expert from Universitas Diponegoro Semarang. The event was organized by Unimus’ Institute of Research and Community Service. It took place in the Medical Laboratory Building of Unimus on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Dr. Sri Darmawati, M.Si. as the Vice Rector I of Unimus stated in her speech that the Workshop of Journal Reviewer and clinic of DRPM research grant proposal making was aimed at imrproving the quality and quantity of researches and community services of Unimus’ lecturers. “This event is to train Unimus’ lecturers to write journal articles to meett with the requirements from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. I hope that by attending the training, you (lecturers), will have a certificacte to review so that you can be recommended to review journals from other institutions.

Atmosphere during the workshop

Prof. Dr. Ir. Syaiful Anwar, M.Si presented various strategies to make an article be accepted by an accredited international journal. “There are 3 lists of asessment fo research proposal feasibility. They are quality and quantity of articles in a scientific journal, proposal substanace, and reasonableness of budget plan,” he revealed. Syaiful added that today’s assessment of research proposals were based on 2 descriptions of guidelines. They were the proposer track record (40%) and the proposal (60%). Syaiful shared the outline of the SOP for the team of Credit Number Assessment in accordance with the assessments of functional position promotion of lecturer at Unimus. There were three things: supporting / administrative data are complete and correct, credit score is enough (cummulative), and some specific terms have been met.
