Second Semester Students warming up prior to the Level Upgrade Test of Tapak Suci

Semarang | (June 1, 2018) Today, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) has applied a character education that is based on Tapak Suci martial art. Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd. the Rector of Unimus, stated that Tapak Suci-based character education is aimed at creating graduates of Unimus that could become strong, confidend and mentally-ready young generations dealing with any challenges. “Tapak Suci is chosen because it more emphasizes on character education such as responsibility, discipline, and solidarity with faith and god-fearing,” Rektor explained.

Tapak Suci at Unimus is also developed though the Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Tapak Suci. Unimus always make efforts to improve the achievements in Tapak Suci by training and routine evaluations. One of the evaluations that have been conducted is Level Upgrade Test (UKT) as taken by approximately 350 new students (semester II) at Unimus for two days from May 31 to June 1, 2018).

Drs. Samsudi Raharjo, M.M, M.T., the Vice Rector III of Unimus, stated in the Tennis Court of Unimus that the test was done by trainers from Pimda 62 Semarang under the supervision of the Head Warrior. “It is aimed at making the students have strong, courageious, honest and noble character and spirits, in line with the meaning of the red-with-yellow-strip costume to face the global competition. Through Tapak Suci, students at Unimus gets character education that will be very useful during the study as well as after graduation in the future,” said Vice Rector III, who is also a Head Warrior of Tapak Suci.
