Semarang (May 30, 2018) College students are always seen as academic beings, with high education, extensive knowledge, rational minds, objectiveness, and critical thoughts. Those considered having theoretical abilities are able to formalize what they know and deal with any situation in the surroundings with conscience. Campus learning for sure is conducted in order to create academicians with extensive knowledge. Nevertheless, learning in higher education is not always to sharpen the brain but also strengthen the morality and social awareness. The latter can be manifested by becoming helpful, generous, friendly, cooperative, and showing mutual cooperation among students and young generations. They shouldn’t pay too much attention to misguided technological use.

Rohmat Suprapto, S.Ag., M.Si., the Director of Sahlan Rosjidi All-female Pesantren at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) satted that students were obligated to have competencies not only related to brain intelligence but also awareness on fellow human beings and environment. One of learning models held by Unimus to improve students’ social awareness was an iftar event with an orphaned foundation and pesantren Al Ikhlas Al Hadi Semarang on Wednensday, May 30, 2018. Hundreds of female mahasantri (students at the pesantren) and orphans attended the event that was held in the hall of the pesantren building within the area of Unimus’ Integrated Campus.
