
Semarang | One of the visions of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) is to have international insight. In order to implement that, Unimus collaborates with three foreign higher education institutions. The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been held between Unimus and Lincoln University and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) from Malaysia, and Hatyai University from Thailand. The ceremony was held in the MoU/LoI signing and International Seminar on Innovation and Development of Education Of Asia (1st INseIDEA) on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

Those giving the signatures were Dato Bibi Florina Abdullah, (President of Lincoln University College Malaysia), Asst. Prof. Dr. Wittawat Didyasarin Sattayarak (President of Hatyai University, Thailand), and Prof. Mohammaed Ibrahim bin Abdullah Mutalib (Vice chancellor of UTP Malaysia). On the occasion also, the three foreign higher education institutions signed some MoUs with Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools under Muhammadiyah and some other private schools.

“Besides doing internationalization for itself, Unimus also facilitates schools. All this time, Unimus has collaborated with various schools in Central Java either those under Muhammadiyah or other schools (public and private) for internationalization. One of the aims is to open the international insights,” Prof. Masrukhi stated. “From now on, student exchanges, lecture exchanges, and research collaborations between Unimus and Lincoln University, UTP and Hatyai University will be beneficial for all the parties,” the Rector closed.
