Semarang | In preparing National Mathematics and Science Olympiad for Higher Education (ONMIPA-PT) 2019 organised by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) conducted selection test to select the best students in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology to compete in Regional and National level. This selection was organised in Kampus 2 of Unimus participated by 26 participants from various study programs in Unimus such as S1-Nutrition, S1-Mathematics Education, S1-Chemistry Education, S1-Public Health, S1-Food Technology, S1-Statistics, and S1-Machine Engineering.

Attending to open the agenda was Rosita Lihasari, S.Sos., M.Si., as the Head of Bureau of Academic Administration and Student Affairs of Unimus. She expressed her biggest appreciation for students who participate in the selection. “We expected that Unimus can sent of its best students to compete in the higher level, regional and national. So, please give your best efforts. Good luck.

For information, selection I was conducted by universities to choose 7 (seven) students for each subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), then those representatives will be sent off to LLDIKTI by 4 March 2019 to join Selection II. Regional competition was organised in 26 – 27 March 2019 by LLDIKTI of 14 regions simultaneously. Finally, there will be selection III, the National Selection that will be joined by at least 64 students (1st place from each private universities; students with the higher score in Selection II). There will be only 20 best participants with each categories such as : Three gold medals, five silver medals, 7 bronze medals and five honourable mention.
