Curriculum Team Members along with Unimus Senior Leaders and Head of Unimus Institute of Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies

Semarang | Islamic and Muhammadiyah Education (Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan) is one of important components in learning system that have to be given to higher education institutions or universities especially Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) in order to build the character of excellent students, not only in accordance with science and technology but also Islamic character that becomes one of the vision and missions of Unimus. Thus, Unimus Institute of Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies held a workshop on April 5-6, 2018. The two-day event was the institute’s dream to review the implementation of Islamic and Muhammadiyah education since 2012, which is a part of the educational curriculum that needs to be developed. The workshop was attended by Drs. Samsudi Raharjo, S.T., M.M. (Vice Rector for Student Affairs), Deans, and Rohmat Suprapto, S.Ag., M.Si. (head of Unimus Institute of Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies), and the curriculum team members, consisting of heads of study programs and lecturers at Unimus.

“Talking about Islamic and Muhammadiyah education, we talk about the spirit or sould that controls anything under Muhammadiyah, which is surely needs to be renewed and as knowledge that supports the development of human resources who are excellent not only in terms of intellectual intelligence and managerial skills but also intelligence in spiritual aspect implemented in the life of persyarikatan, the people, and the nation,” Head of Unimus Institute of Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies revealed. “Religion is important for anything. The better someone’s faith is, the better anything done will be. Besides, religious education can become a benchmark that underlies lecturers’ decision in giving education to the students in order to create Islamic persons who have noble characters,” the Vice Rector of Student Affairs added.
