Semarang │March 19, 2017 Student Association of Nutrition Diploma (HIMAGI) of the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) became the host of the 7th Regional Discussion of Indonesian Student Association of Nutrition Diploma (IKAMAGI) throughout Java island area. The meeting was themed Dedicated in Science to Achieve the Goal”, held on March 18-20, 2017. There were 20 delegations who participated in the event. They were from Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health (Poltekkes Kemenkes) Tasikmalaya, Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health (Poltekkes Kemenkes) Semarang, Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health (Poltekkes Kemenkes) Yogyakarta, Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health (Poltekkes Kemenkes) Malang, Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health (Poltekkes Kemenkes) Jember, Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health (Poltekkes Kemenkes) Surabaya and DIII of Nutrition of Unimus.

Attending the event also are the Vice Dean I of Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences of Unimus, Dr. Tri Hartiti., S.K.M., M.Kep., the head of DIII of Nutrition, Ir. Agustin Syamsianah., M.Kes., the secretary of DIII of Nutrition, Erma Handarsari., M.Pd., the President of Unimus Students and the Secretary General of IKAMAGI Area VII, Aprilian Triwibowo.

In his greeting speech, the Secretary General of IKAMAGI Areal VII, who is from Poltekes Kemenkes Jakarta II explained that the aims of the event were to establish silaturahim between institutions who have Nutrition Diploma, evaluate the current working program of IKAMAGI as well as hold a working meeting. Chairman of IKAMAGI, Tika Yulana Rahayu, added that the event was held to evaluate the performance of the administrators and discuss the preparation of the 8th National Discussion which will be held on October this year.

Dr. Tri Hartiti., S.K.M., M.Kep., who opened the event, really appreciated positively the event for it could become a medium to share information and technology dealing with nutrition. It could also be a way of the young generation to make Indonesia healthy by 2020. “Theme of this Regional Discussion really matches with vision “Indonesia Sehat” in 2020”. She also asked HIMAGI to promote and say good things about Unimus. Lastly, she encouraged the students as young scientists to keep developing self, improving education up to doctoral degree and persuaded them to choose Unimus if they want to take an undergraduate program in the future.

In total, the regional discussion included some activities such as working meeting, working program discussion, accountability report and city tour to introduce Semarang City to the participants. The event also included congregational Prayers (salat al-jama‘ah), sporting and school visits to share information about health and balanced nutrition.
