Semarang │(August 25, 2017) Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) hosts Central Java provincial level of Achmad Dahlan Olympics & Cultural and Sports Performances (Olympicad & Pentasbora) 2017 for two days, starting from today to tomorrow (August 25 – 26, 2017) in Campus I of Unimus. 35 contingents (regencies and cities) in Central Java province participates in this event. The event has began this morning with a Ta’aruf Parade of the Olympicad & Pentasbora, which consisted of the representatives to the Primary and Secondary Education Council of each participating Muhammadiyah Regional Executive Board, school headmasters, teachers, and students of Muhammadiyah primary and secondary schools in Central. The parade and opening ceremony was held in the front yard of the rectorate building of Unimus this morning; meanwhile, the competitions will be held in the sports center and all buildings of Campus I, Unimus.
Tim seni tapak suci dalam kegiatan pawai kontingen di halaman rektorat UnimusOlympicad & Pentasbora 2017 is held by the Primary & Secondary Education Council of Cenral Java Province in collaboration with Central Java Provincial Executive Board of Muhammadiyah Students Association. The competitions held include competitions of sciences, arts, and sports for school students, teachers, and head masters. Student competitions include competitions of business plan, website design, indie movie, Musabaqah Hifzhil Qur’an, Musabaqah Fahmil Qur’an, Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an, and preaching in Arabic and English with the theme “Islam is my religion, Muhammadiyah is my movement” for primary school students and the theme “Challenges faced by Muhammadiyah Young Generations in the Global Era” for high school students. There still some other competitions such as competitions of student scientific works, school magazine, school web designing, and News Reading in English, as well as science Olympics and robotic and automotive competitions. Meanwhile, art competitions for students are music and dance performances. As for sports for students, there are several kinds of competitions such as futsal, archery, and Tapak Suci martial art competitions. As for teachers, they’ll compete in writing papers of Class Action Researches. And, then, the school headmasters will compete in writing papers about School Action Researches.
The event aims at giving significant contributions towards Muhammadiyah’s educational and cultural sectors. The primary activity of the Olympicad & Pentasbora of Central Java Province 2017 will be the olympics of Education and Culture in order to give appreciations to the champions that will be prepare to represent Central Java province in the national-level competition. As the host of this event, we hope that Unimus will be more familiar the participants. It is also to let public in general know more about Islam and Muhammadiyah in a positive light.
