1UNIMUS ǀ Semarang January 16th, 2017 In 2017, the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang has been awarded 66 grants by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristek-Dikti)  through the lecturers’ proposals of researches and community services..

In details, those 66 titles (proposals) are categorized into 14 proposals of applied product researches, 1 proposal of national strategic research, 2 proposals of excellence higher education researches, 26 proposals of junior lecturer researches, 2 proposals of postdoctoral researches, 8 proposals of science, technology and art (IPTEKS) for the community, 1 proposal of science, technology and art (IPTEKS) for entrepreneurship, 1 proposal of science, technology and art for campus creativity innovation, 1 proposal of student community service on community empowerment  learning. 55 of the 66 titles are research proposals; meanwhile, 11 titles are community service titles. Given such details, it is expected that the total amount of grants received by Unimus’ academicians is approximately 3.5 billion rupiahs, increasing significantly from 2.7 billion rupiahs in the previous year.

In this year, Unimus again shows some improvement in term of number of Kemenristek-Dikti’s grant recipients. Among all Muhammadiyah higher education institutions, Unimus is in the top 10. Exactly, Unimus is the 5th best among all other Muhammadiyah higher education institutions, after Ahmad Dahlan University (100 proposals), the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (95 proposals), the University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (84 proposals) and the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (80 proposals). Following Unimus (66 proposals) are the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya and the University of Muhammadiyah Jember (both with 65 proposals), the Univerisity of Muhammadiyah Jakarta (55 proposals) and the University of Muhammadiyah Pare-Pare (64 proposals). “Among all private higher education institutions in Central Java province  (under Region VI Kopertis), Unimus is the 4th best in accordance with the number of community service and research grants after the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Sultan Agung Islamic University, and the University of PGRI,” explained Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd, as the Rector of unimus, accompanied by the Vice Rector I (Dr. Sri Darmawati, M.Si.), the Vice Rector II (Dr. Sri Rejeki, M.Kep., Sp.Mat.), the Vice Rector III (Drs. Samsudi Raharjo, MT.) and the Head of the Institute of Research and Community Service (Dr. Dini Cahyandari, M.T.).
