Rector of Unimus is cutting the red ribbon in the grocery shop “Barokah Sejahtera” official opening”

Semarang | Basic needs of human beings consist of needs of clothing, food, and shelter. In this modern era, humans’ needs become more diverse. It can be seen from the variety and increase of people’s needs. Groceries are also basic needs o human beings, in order to keep alive. That is why, need of food for everyone is always very important.

Demands of groceries keep increasing, making Unimus feel that the situation can be a good business opportunity in that segment. In order to support that, on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, has officially opened a grocery and stationery store run by Barokah Sejahtera, the Unimus Staff Coop. The grand opening was led by Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd, the Rector of Unimus.

Setia Iriyanto, the Chairman of the coop, stated that the shop opening was to educate the staff members about dealing with economy in Muhammadiyah. “From Unimus to the society, from Muhammadiyah to Indonesia with progress,” he stated. Items sold are foodstuffs and daily needs like rice, sugar, palm oil, tea, soap, and stationery.

Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd. added that the shop would be the prototype of “Unimus Mart”, which would be built in the middle of 2018 in the Integrated Campus of Unimus. “We can collaborate with AHASS, electric supplies seller, pulse merchant, and even beauty shop in the future because business opportunities at Unimus are indeed open,” he added. He hoped that all lines in the campus could develop together through “Unimus Mart”, and for sure, the staff coop can get in charge of it.
