Chris “The Dragon” John, a former WBA (Super) featherweight champion, visited Unimus on June 30, 2018 to become the guest speaker in a National Seminar on Sports. Having the full name Johanes Christian John, he came to motivate the students to get high achievements in sports. HE share with them various tips to be successful as well as to get high achievements in sports. It explained that to gain success, we have to know our own strength and weakness. “We have to be honest to ourselves so that we will always try to improve ourselves to become better and get more achievements,” he said. Themed “Boosting the students’ spirits in sports in the university area”, the seminar was held by the Student Activity Unit of Sports.
Several important figures attended the event, such as Drs. Effendhi Hari Marsudi Catur, M.Pd, the Division head of Sports, the Youth, Sports and Tourism Office of Central Java Province, who really appreciated the event. He expressed his proud for knowing that one of Unimus’ students, Aris Susanti Rahayu from the Study Program in Management, had got a great achievement in Wall climbing on international level. He added that his office offered cooperation with Unimus in form of trainings given by the Youth, Sports and Tourism Office for athletes studying at Unimus.
