
Semarang|(26/4/2019) The National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB) proclaims National Disaster Preparedness Day (HKB) on 26 April. HKB is such opportunity to engage everyone in disaster management training. It is not merely a ceremony, but great effort to change people’s attitude in building self preparedness to manage disaster. It was held for two days (25-26 April 2019) respectively in Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus). The agenda was opened by disaster management explanation (lecture), and ended by earthquake management simulation in NRC Building of Unimus. This activity invited Naibul Umam, Head of Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) of Central Java. He elaborated the material about disaster management and guided the simulation that was participated by 200 participants such as lecturers, students, and staffs of Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences in Unimus. Umam stated that this activity was very beneficial for Unimus that initiate Disaster Resilient Campus Program. “On behalf of MDMC Central Java, we appreciate Unimus for holding this simulation. It is very helpful for us, because there are so many cadres of Muhammadiyah volunteer. It is expected that it will broaden their knowledge about disaster management development in the future,” added Umam.
In her welcoming speech, Sri Rejeki expressed her gratitude to MDMC Central Java, Fikkes, and HW Unimus which collaborate to realize this agenda. “I think in the future, Unimus can organize bigger event engaging all the society of academicians related to disaster management. Considering that nowadays Unimus has 7-story building, all people should understand how to implement basic disaster management,” Sri Rejeki stated.

In the end of the agenda, Naibul Umam read the speech from Head of BNPB Letjen TNI Doni Monardo. It is said that Indonesia recently encounter several disasters which relatively increase every year. “Based on the data, at least 2.572 disasters took place and caused 4.814 victims died and lost, 21.064 got injuries in 2018, and 10,2 million people evacuated. In addition, disaster also resulted in IDR 100 billion losses”, he explained. He stated that Pentahelix is the solution “There are five elements to engage in this program such as ABCGM: Academician (Akademisi), Business (Bisnis), Community (Komunitas), Government (Pemerintah), and Media. The point is mutual cooperation (gotong-royong) or the manifestation of Pancasila value” he elaborated. In the end of the speech, he promoted “Get Ready to Safe” by focusing on four things, such as prevention, mitigation, preparedness, and early warning. The agenda was ended by promoting the awareness about early disaster prevention. “Beware of the danger, get ready to survive and safe” is the slogan of Unimus students and MDMC Central Java.
