Semarang | The challenge of rapid technology development nowadays needs to be responded immediately. We have just about to know Industrial Revolution 4.0 and today such terminology of Industrial Revolution 5.0 is emerging. Through Society 5.0, such artificial intelligence will transform big data in every aspects of life and the Internet of Things will be a brand-new local wisdom that is dedicated to improve human’s ability to welcome new chalenges for humanity. To face this new civilization concept, Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences in Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang organized International Stadium General on Friday (12/04/2019) in RSGM Hall of Unimus. This event entitled “Higher Education and Fifth Industrial Revolution Opportunity” invited Prof. Dr. Mohammad Reevany Bustami, BA., M.A., Ph.D as the senior lecturer from School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Many participants, mostly from S1 Mathematics Education, S1 Chemistry Education and S1 Statistics, were enthusiastically participated in the hilarious event. Dr. Eny Winaryati, M.Pd also attended to welcome the participants. She said that this International Stadium General was the beginning for FMIPA Unimus and USM Malaysia to collaborate. “Hopefully, the collaboration between both universities will be more intensive. In the future, not only the lecturers who conduct collaborative study but also the students. Why? Because having collaborative work and good communication is the characteristic of 21st century, and I am sure by having good collaboration and communication will make us more ready to face the challenge.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Reevany Bustami, BA., M.A., Ph.D asserted that the prospective Industrial Revolution 5.0 is one of the strenghts to make a change. “By considering the core values of Nations, pride of Nation identity, and the emergence of spiritual understanding, South East countries can lead the development of Industrial Revolution 5.0 ,” he ended.
