Atmosphere during the speaker’s presentation

Semarang | Unimus (July 10, 2018) Excellent resources are created by excellent education with the excellent teachers. And, excellent teachers are products of an excellent Educational Institution of Educational Staff (Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan (LPTK)). Lecturer is a main element of teacher education. Thus, a lecturer should become a model for his or her teacher-candidate students. He or she needs to become a good example for them in terms of the professional duties including the strategy to establish learning in the classroom.

Dr.rar.Nat. Asep Supriatna, M.Si delivers a material

Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) as one of LPTK providers has three educational-based study programs which also are developing the Lecturer Assignment at School program (Penugasan Dosen di Sekolah (PDS)) by giving an assignment to a lecturer to teach at some school and collaborate with the classroom teacher. In order prepare lecturers who would teach at several schools, Unimus held a workshop on Collaborative Learning in the Medical Laboratory building of Unimus at Jl. Kedungmundu raya No. 18 Semarang (July 10, 2018).

Dr. Eny Winaryati, M.Pd. (Dean of Unimus Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) as the committee chairman stated that the workshop was held as a part of Decentralization Research Grant program received by the faculty from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. “The lecturer Assignment Program at School needs lecturers’ commitment to experience becoming a teacher at the partner school, either in primary, junior high, senior high or vocational high schools,” she said. “The collaborative learning will teach both lecturers and teachers of the collaborating schools about classroom learning, starting from making lesson plan, conducting classroom learning, to evaluating,” she added. The workshop was attended by 40 participants, consisting of 10 educational lecturers at Unimus, teachers from several schools nearby Unimus and 30 teachers and headmasters of 5 partner schools. Dr.rar.Nat. Asep Supriatna, M.Si., a Lesson Study expert from UPI Bandung, became the facilitator.
