Semarang | Intel Corporation, an American multinational enterprise, held a workshop of photography and creative content in the Nursing Research Center (NRC) building at Unimus (5/31/2018). Themed “#MULAISUKSESMU Kelasborasi”, the event has attracted huge attentions of Unimus’ students. Intel, as a brand that has been well-known with its Computer CPU microprocessor designs and productions, collaborated with Unimus’ Student Executive Board (BEM Keluarga Mahasiswa) brought teo speakers. They were WS Pramono (WSP), a professional photographer having ever worked with some big media in Indonesia and a contributor of several magazines, and Dedy Dahlan, a passion coach, book writer and entrepreneur.

WSP stated that commercial photography industry today had been becoming an important activity along with the advertising business’s need of photographers to produce interesting pictures or photographs. Pram (his nickame) also added that there were two kinds of photographers, i.e. amateur and professional photographers. “An amateur photographer means a photographer that just takes a picture. Meanwhile, a professional photographer means one that takes a picture with pleasure and can make it commercial,” he said. Profesional means having skill and reponsibility dealing wth the profession.

Drs. Samsudi Rahardjo, M.M., M.T., the Vice Rector III of Unimus, in his welcome speech stated that “…creative economy nowadays is reemerging. Thus, being excellent at creativity can be useful in the working world.” He added that professions were not just those done inside offices. Photographer, copy writer, and graphic designer are examples of promosing professions because they could have good incomes. For records, Unimus today has had some Intel campus ambassadors. One of them is Triarmaja, a sixth semester student in the Faculty of Engineering.
