Semarang | “Alumni Mengajar” or Teaching Alumni Program was officially opened by Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Unimus on Tuesday, 7 January 2020 in Campus 4 Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus). This agenda was attended by Dean of FT, Dr. RM. Bagus Irawan, ST. M.Si., IPM, Head of Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Program, lecturers, academician society, and all first and third semester students of Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Program. The speaker of this agenda was “Krisna Sembodo, ST.”, alumni of Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Program who works as the assistant manager in Department Industrial Engineering, PT. Morich Indo Fasion Ungaran. This agenda aimed at providing university students about how to distribute, implement, and apply the knowledge they have got in the classroom to produce the goodness for both society and business group.

By promoting hilarious theme such as “Implementasi Ilmu Teknik Mesin Pada Proses Produksi di Industri Garmen”, Dean stated that the aim of Teaching Alumni Program was designed to encourage students in Study Programs in Faculty of Engineering that they have best graduates who successfully work in industrial sector. Besides, this would tell about how far students can develop themselves and survive in the work life after graduating. Through teaching alumni activity, students will also learn that the development of industrial sector in Indonesia grows rapidly. Dean remarked that gaining success is not an easy thing, but work hard, work smart, and also the power of Dua. For instance, by being good student, obey the regulation, actively engage in learning process, and always improve themselves to be better. Dean hoped that this teaching alumni program will give broader insight to students about several jobs and job descriptions in industrial field, so it will encourage students to be able to compete with the others and get their dream job, of course in the industrial sector.

Dekan juga menyampaikan dalam sambutannya bahwa sebuah keberhasilan itu tidaklah diraih dengan jalan yang mudah, melainkan dengan usaha dan kerja keras serta do’a, contohnya dengan bersikap yang baik sebagai mahasiswa, mentaati aturan – aturan yang ada, rajin dalam mengikuti perkuliahan, dan selalu aktif dalam setiap kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas diri dalam proses pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh Dosen. Dekan berharap dengan adanya alumni mengajar tersebut bisa memberikan wawasan terhadap mahasiswa bagaimana proses pekerjaan dalam dunia perindustrian, sehingga bisa memberikan semangat belajar yang tinggi kepada mahasiswa, dan setelah lulus nanti akan mampu bersaing dan mendapatkan pekerjaan yang diinginkan khusunya dalam bidang industry.

Dean also added several important points in organising teaching alumni program. This was also expected to give positive impact to accreditation point that immediately will be conducted in Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Program. Again, he added that in the future, MoU between Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Program of Unimus and PT. Morich Indo Fasion Ungaran will be initiated immediately to facilitate students in term of internship or information of job vacancy.
