Semarang | (July 13, 2018) Lecturers and students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) go international by getting involved with a international event. Unimus’ delegation consists 3 students of Undergraduate Program in Nursing (Bella Maulidina Indah, Nila Shaumayantika, and Siti Maria Hela), a student of Professional Program in Nursing (Instiaisyah Amyni), and Nursing program lecturer (Ns. Dera Alfiyanti, M.Kep.) have got an opportunity to participate in the Asian Summer Course Program entitled “Introduction of Chinese Medicine and Crossculture Bioetics“ in Tainan, Republic of China (Taiwan). They were dispatched by Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd., the Rector of Unimus, witnessed by Dr. Tri Hartiti, SKM, M.Kes. (Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences), as well as Heads and Secretaries of Diploma III, Undergraduate, and Professional Programs in Nursing at Unimus.

The Summer Program-Course will be held for two weeks from July 14 to 18, 2018. This program is held by the College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) Tainan, Taiwan. By taking this program, the students and lecturer is expected to extend their knowledge on Chinese traditional medicine and Cross-cultural Biotic at NCKU as a part of nursing materials given in the study programs. This event will also become an application of partnership between the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Unimus.

In the opportunity, Prof. Masrukhi, the Rector of Unimus, stated that NCKU was one of famous public universities in Taiwan and one of recommended institutions for students and lecturers. He hoped that the program could become a preparatory stage for the lecturer and students of the Nursing programs to take further studies in Taiwan. “During the Summer Course all of the participants, besides learning about traditional Chinese medicine, are expected to learning lots about Chinese honesty, discipline, and culture. Their departure also becomes one of Unimus’ efforts to implement a point of Unimus’ vision, which is having global insight.”. Meanwhile, Dr. Tri Hartiti mentioned that one of the flagship specialties in Nursing programs was holistic nursing, besides emergency. “By participating in the short course, the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences will continuously develop activities dealing with international relations,” Dr. Titi said.
