Unimus | (January 20, 2018) Prof. Dr. dr. H. Rifqi Muslim, SpB, SpU (K), the dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) led an oath-taking ceremony for 4 new medical doctors graduating from Professional Program in Medicine at Unimus. The 14th ceremony was held at Hotel Pesona Semarang on Saturday, January 20, 2018. The four doctors were dr. Agri Shafrion Darwis, dr. Debby Septyo Sony, dr. Rizki Amalia and dr. Yuli Solihati. The ceremony was attended by members of Muhammadiyah Provincial Executive Board of Central Java, Vice Rectors and Deans of Unimus, representatives of Semarang City Health Office, and invited guests from several hospitals in the city.
Prof. Dr. dr. H. Rifqi Muslim, SpB, SpU (K) stated that by the 14 oath-taking ceremony, 161 doctors had graduated from Unimus’ Faculty of Medicine. “The oath taking ceremony for medical profession becomes one of the efforts for creating doctors that can work professionally so that public will be protected. The new doctors will be able to improve their career by taking higher education programs such as specialist degree programs or master and doctoral programs and then dedicated their lives to the public,” he revealed. He also advised specifically to the sworn ones to work with Islamic work ethics that match with the vision and missions of Unimus. “The new doctors from Unimus should live properly, with honesty and trustworthiness to get success both in this world and the Hereafter,” Prof. Rifki explained. “Live a happy life. Make your parents and family happy as well. Say thanks to and always respect your parents, teachers, lecturers, and also patients that have become your sources of learning,” he added.
To the new doctors, Dr. Sri Darmawati, M.Si., the Vice Rector I, who represented Prof. Dr. H. Masrukhi, M.Pd (Rector of Unimus) advised them to make use of their achievements as capitals to serve the society. “The title of doctor is the fruit of a hopeful struggle, with patience, spirit, and resilience during the study, training intellectuality and skills. The oath that has been taken should to be internalized into soul and the beginning of the new struggle that is hard, which to implement the knowledge and Islamic values as well as to think as a moral and intellectual Muslim,” he added. Rector of Unimus, in particular, also expressed his gratitude for the achievement of the Faculty of Medicine. “For the academicians of the Faculty of Medicine at Unimus, we want to express our gratitude because, the Undergraduate Program in Medical Education and Professional Program in Medicine have been accredited B from the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health. We also want to express our gratitude for the on-going process of the construction of the Faculty of Medicine’s building in the integrated campus area, which can be used insya-Allah in the Academic Year 2018/ 2019,” the Rector concluded.
