Delegation of Indonesia and Universiti Teknologi Petronas in One Frame

Bandar Sri Iskandar – April 27, 2018 Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) is the best private university with the predicate: #1 Private University in Malaysia, according to 6-Star Rating Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA). This university belongs to Petronas, a leading company, through its CSR program. We cannot deny that UTP, at the age of 21 (founded on January 10, 1997) has dashed to become a favorite and prestigious at the world level. This university focuses on developing Engineering, Science, Geoscience, and Technology.

Signing Ceremony of MoU between Unimus and Universiti Teknologi Petronas

Synergizing with UTP and as an attempt to implement the vision of having international insight Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) starts a new partnership with UTP through Go International Program. Taking place in the senate room of UTP on Thursday, April 27, 2018, a meeting was held between Unimus and UTP. The delegation of Unimus was led by Dr. RM Bagus Irawan, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, representing the Rector of Unimus. In that opportunity, Assoc Prof. Ku Zilati Binti Ku Shaari, the Director of Registry Division of UTP stated that “UTP is today is keen to develop global cooperation, along with the attempt to increase the number of the international students in 2019, hopefully exceeding 30%”.

In another session, a joint dinner with Prof Dr. M. Ibrahim ABD Muntolib (Covering Vice Chancellor & CEO of UTP) was held. In addition to the MoU signing ceremony, there were some activities done such as laboratory visit, creative learning method simulation, technopreneurship program and campus tour to observe the facilities and infrastructure of UTP, in a 400-hectare area in Bandar Sri Iskandar. The entire event was packed in “Go International and Technopreunership Short Course Program”.

Through this program, Unimus also facilitate 25 delegates of school headmasters in provinces of Central Java, West Java, West Sumatra, Central Sulawesi, and Muhammadiyah Council of Primary and Secondary Education to sign a MoU with UTP under “Go International UTP Program”. “The event is Unimus’ attempt to go international and collaborate with high schools to anticipate globalization with internationalization. The MoU becomes a bridge of school collaboration with UT that can stimulate the graduates in the future to look for some chances to study at UTP” M.
