Prof. Dr. Masrukhi., MPd (kiri) dan Ir. Sugeng Riyanto., MSc tunjukkan naskah kerjasamaSemarang │ June 16, 2017 Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) set up a partnership with the Environment and Forestry Office of Central Java Province (Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (LHK) Provinsi Jateng). It began with a MoU signing ceremony held in the park of Unimus’ Integrated Campus on Jalan Kedungmundu Raya, Semarang. The MoU was signed by Ir. Sugeng Riyanto, M.Sc. as the Head of the Environment and Forestry Office and Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, MPd as the Rector of Unimus.

Sugeng Riyanto, M.Sc. stated that the partnership was able to support the work programs of the Governor of Central Java, such as, ”Ijo Royo-royo (greening program)” or and ”Taman Hijau di Lingkungan (a program of creating green parks)”. The greening programs in Central Java area are implemented by planting tree seedlings. “We collaborate with Unimus as it has a lot of female students that can help planting trees in barren areas. It is done by, for example, planting trees while conducting a student community program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata-KKN) and social service,” he explained. He also added that his party expected that the program could be really implemented so that there would be many barren areas that became greener and full of plants. “Because we are indeed in charge with forestry matters and if Unimus needs seedlings for greening, we are ready to help,” he stated. Meanwhile, the Rector added that Unimus was ready to help and give contributions in all of the Provincial Government’s programs, in this case, manifested by the programs of the Environment and Forestry Office. “Campus greening that involves a lot of parties will also support the predicate of Unimus, as a Mini Beautiful Campus” Unimus’ rector closed.
