Semarang │Unimus (22/10/2018) Alhamdulillah, permission to establish Information Technology Study Program in Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) has been stipulated with Decision Letter of Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education number 839/KPT/I/2018. While, the copy of the decision letter was delivered to Rector of Unimus on Monday (22/10) by the Coordinator of LLDIKTI Region VI Central Java, Prof. Dr. Dwi Yuwono Puji Sugiharto M.Pd., Kons. This agenda was held in RSGM Hall of Unimus, attended also by Daily Trustees Board (BPH), Vice Rectors, and lecturers of Unimus.

Rector of Unimus, Prof. Dr. Masrukhi expressed his gratitude for direction and advises given by LLDIKTI that the establishment of Information Technology Study Program finally realised. He also added that this effort is part of Unimus commitment to realise its jargon “University for the Excellence”. “Unimus keeps on doing good thing and alhamdulillah, people’s animo of Unimus is getting higher nowadays. In this academic year, Unimus accepts 2764 freshmen. We commit to always create many achievement and perform the best in realising Four Pillar of Higher Education (Catur Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) by optimising 8 faculties in Unimus,” added Prof. Masrukhi. By having Information Technology Study Program, now Unimus owns 25 study programs.

Prof. DYP. Sugiharto accompanied by several officials in LLDikti Regionan Central Java attended Unimus not only to deliver the Decision Letter, but also to give motivation and advise to all lecturers in Unimus. Prof. DYP stated that Unimus has done so many things that it makes a lot of progress. Thus, he do expect that Unimus will be accredited A in upcoming 2019. However, there are so many challenges and difficulties that has to be encountered by Unimus to be the best. “First, rapid disruptive digital era, industry 4.0 should be faced by Unimus. This university has to think out of the box i.e. by opening new study programs that are highly demanded by society. It is possible to open Online learning by preparing blended learning. So there would be no limitation of time and distant to learn. Everyone can learn whenever and wherever through online learning. Second, university should prepare good blended learning-based curriculum to conduct online/distant learning. Information Technology Study Program is very promising and strategic because it can be the pioneer of blended learning in Unimus, of course with the good regulation and management.” He ended.
